Adam - Senior Sous Chef
I am pleased to introduce you to Adam Tucker our senior sous chef. As part of our occasional ‘A Minute or Two on the Clock’ series, we have quizzed Adam on his likes and dislikes.
1. Salty or sweet? Tea or Coffee?
Growing up I always had a sweet tooth, but now enjoy both savoury and sweet. Also, in the right circumstances they can be amazing together - so I don’t need to choose!
I really don’t enjoy either the taste or smell of coffee, and no one forgets their tea until it’s cold better than I do.
2. Who inspired you?
I am so inspired by many individuals. In particular Jason Sant, who was my college lecturer and gave me confidence and creative freedom.
But also, without knowing it at the time, my parents were my original inspiration; from home cooked meals and introduction to many ingredients, including those grown at home.
3. Lazy Sunday breakfast treat?
Whatever my super partner spoils me with… and occasionally with tea.... that, of course, I forget about.
4. Favourite tipple
I don’t really have a favourite, but I do enjoy a perry or cider, a good Pedro Ximenez Sherry or Licor 43…but not all at once.
5. Secret indulgence?
Crumpets, with melted virgin butter and bonfire salt or a Banana Twinkie. But ssshhh, it’s a secret.
